Elizabeth acaba de descobrir que Lydia fugiu com Mr. Wickham. Mesmo tendo conhecimento desse fato, Mr. Darcy se recusa a deixá-la. Uma aproximação mais direta, sentimentos quase confessos, um beijo e Mr. e Mrs Gardiner flagram ambos. Exigindo explicações, Mr. Gardiner acaba descobrindo pelo próprio Darcy sobre a proposta de casamento e a recusa de sua sobrinha. Mais surpreso ainda ele fica quando descobre a fuga de Lydia. Será que Darcy seguirá os conselhos de Mr. Gardiner para conquistar Lizzie de vez?

Nesta versão da história, Darcy e Lizzie, ao invés de se afastarem quando da fuga de Lydia, acabam se reaproximando e acabam revelando seus sentimentos, ao invés de se separarem amargurados. Uma reviravolta interessante no enredo original. O livro é pequeno, o que não diminui a qualidade do conteúdo. Mais uma vez, Abigail conseguiu me prender até o final da leitura. Indicado.

A more direct approach, almost confessed feelings, a kiss and Mr. and Mrs Gardiner saw them both. Demanding explanations, Mr. Gardiner finds out about Darcy's own marriage proposal and the refusal of her niece. He is even more surprised when she discovers Lydia’s escape. Will Darcy follow the advice of Mr. Gardiner to win Lizzie for good?

In this version of the history, Darcy and Lizzie, instead of removing the drain when Lydia escape, end up reconnecting and revealing their feelings, instead of separating embittered. An interesting twist on the original plot. The book is small, which does not diminish the quality of the content. Again, Abigail managed to keep me reading until the end. Indicated.
